Reverse Reseller Fee Calculator

Work backward from the profit you want. Compare the listing price required after estimated fees and seller-paid shipping on five major marketplaces.

Calculate your target listing price

Estimates are for planning only. Marketplace rates, optional services, category fees, taxes, and shipping policies can change.

How does the reverse formula work?

For percentage-based fees, the estimated price is calculated as (COGS + target profit + shipping + fixed fee) divided by (1 − percentage fee). This lets you price from your desired result instead of guessing.

Marketplace fee assumptions

  • eBay: 13.6% plus $0.30 fixed fee on orders of $10 or less, $0.40 above.
  • Poshmark: $2.95 below $15 or 20% at $15 and above.
  • Mercari: 10% (payment processing included). Depop: 3.3% + $0.45 payment processing, no U.S. selling fee.
  • Etsy: 9.5% plus a $0.45 fixed fee.

Frequently asked questions

What is a reverse reseller fee calculator?

It starts with your costs and desired result, then estimates the sale price needed after marketplace fees.

Does shipping affect the target listing price?

Yes. Shipping paid by the seller is included as an expense in the estimate.

Can I target a percentage margin?

Yes. Select listing-price margin and enter a percentage such as 30 for a 30% target margin.

Why can Poshmark show two results?

Poshmark uses a flat fee below $15 and a percentage fee at $15 or more, so the calculator checks both pricing branches and shows any valid one.
